Morro Bay Photo Expo 2010

Last weekend I participated in a local event called Morro Bay Photo Expo.  It consisted of 2 1/2 days of workshops, shoots and listening to George Lepp who used to reside locally.

I learned allot, shot many photos and had the pleasure of other photographers.

Morro Bay Harbor
I took the HDR workshops.  It helped me to grasp how to capture the image and then to process.  The new Nik HDR software is great.

Our shooting for the HDR workshop was in Los Osos at the Los Osos Oaks Reserve.

I'm Bustin Outa Here!

We were able to shoot, all 100+ of us, at the beach at sunset.  Even if we did not get the colors because of the the clouds, I enjoyed the horses they had for us.

Dancing on the Edge

I love this image because it shows the mom's free spirit with her family.

There were so many of us shooting, that we were the spectacle!  What a great experience.  I highly recommend to any of you interested next year.
  Peace to all of you...

Testing...One, two, three...Canon Macro 100mm

My wants and my needs rarely meet.  My desire for certain equipment leads to "lens envy".  One lens that I think I would like to add to my "basic" collection is Canon's Macro EF100mm f/2.8 USM lens.

So for my birthday, I was ecstatic to receive a gift certificate to BorrowedLenses.com from my daughter and son in law.  Woo Hoo!!!

So for a week I get to try it out, but I was hoping to get into the Macro workshop at the Morro Bay Photo Expo, but I was waitlisted.  Oh well, so here is some shots that I attempted between cleaning the house and getting ready for work.

Maybe I will hang onto it for a few more days.

I would be interested in any feedback.

Back to the MXdN or as it's called now the MXoN Lakewood, CO

I am finally getting back to our trip to Colorado to see the MXdN come to America.  This is a phenomenal race that encompasses the world.  Over 30+ nations take part and it happened to be in the USA this year!!

You can read more about it here:  Motorcross Des Nations

I took so many pictures, it was hard to narrow it down.  Now I understand what the editors go through.  I was so happy to stay home today while I waited for a Fed Ex package that I needed to sign for.  Another story.

So here is, I am sure, way too many pictures to thumb through.  I will have more on Picasa if you want to see them all.  This is just practice day!

Fall Through My Eyes

Don't Looked At Me!
This has become, without a doubt, my favorite time of year.  Maybe because the feel of the air is noticable, the colors certainly are or a start of slowing down a bit for the oncoming winter.  Which is not anything like many other places in the mountains or northern states, but still a change to crisp, cool days.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of this time of year.

I have never seen the variety of colors, textures and shapes in pumpkins and gourds.

From Farmer's Market, to the local Apple Orchards and the local barns...there is such a burst of fall color.  Everywhere you look you can find something that will catch your attention.
Enjoy this season with me.....
