5 Minute Friday

I receive encouragement daily in my email inbox.  This morning there was a challenge.  Write for 5 minutes on the prompt "Still"  unedited, just write.
My Morning View - Be Still
But Fridays are my rush morning to clean the house and still get to work at a reasonable time, mid morning.  Add to that I overslept a bit and I am already behind.

Be Still....

So I set the timer for 5 minutes, here goes:

5 minutes...Prompt...Still

Friday - Be Still

Still here  :)

Sit & be still - laundry started, list in my head to get the house cleaned & to work by 10.
Words of encouragement in the morning that fill me, while I choose to be still.

The morning's sounds start to multiply.

The birds, near in the front yard, window open and at the neighbors trees - the orioles announce their arrival at the feeder.

Be still - I grabbed stillness at lunch yesterday & sat on the back steps at work.  The sun's warmth & the air's coolness on my skin....

and the the 5 minute timer went off, and I thought I would have a hard time filling 5 minutes!

continue....

...prompted me to rest my head in my hands, close my eyes & pray...for others.  I slipped in & out of a long awaited peace-refreshed & renewed to continue.

Be still - not always easy - but always worth it.

Ok, now I need to get up and moving.....Find sometime to be still today...peace to you

Your day seems typical for so many of us. We have so much to accomplish and yet God calls us to slow and listen to Him.
Hope your day goes great!

So glad you stopped long enough to read my ramblings. Yes, God is good, isn't He? I have 15 minutes to get to work...just right. Now to pop my head in the exercise room and say good morning to my in laws. Hope your day keeps with a peace of that stillness we find.
