Pismo Beach Classic Car Show 2012

Blurred Woody

Here it is already a week since the Pismo Beach Classic Car Show and I guess it always astonishes me the time it takes to carve out a bit of the day to go through the images and then pick some (that's a hard part) then edit and post in a few different places.

Blended Reflections

My daughter was coming home for the weekend, Father's Day and to pick up her deployed hubby's car that we had stored, (he is almost home!!!) I had seen a local "Meetup" sponsored by Light Workshops based in Los Osos, CA and decided to join a handful of other photographers to shoot for the morning.

Classic on the Pier

Met at 6:30am...not bad, but it was a Saturday morning and Angela got in the night before.  But, being the troopers we are for a photo shoot with friends, we shot down the canyon and parked just a block away from meeting everyone.

Clear Skies! in Pismo!  in June!  at least for a bit.
It was a great time to be out and before the massive crowds arrived.

Reflections of Pismo
We started in the street across from Splash Cafe, and then into the area with some great classics as they chose their spots for the day.  Incredible works of art.

Lake Almanor, installment #4

comes Sunday, the last day of a most perfect weekend.

Lakside Dawning

Again we wake to the sun directly across the lake and shining in the window.

Morning Burst

I think I have slept the morning away and it is barely past 6am.  Coffee....and we have sugar!!  I love my in house barista!

This morning, we have access to a motorcycle, very familiar to us.  We have our coffee and head towards Lassen.  First we stop at Mineral, for breakfast.  A family run diner with history on every wall.  A great breakfast and then into the park.  There is still much snow, a bit chilly, but breathtaking.

At the Peak in LASSEN

A bit chilled

This is our last morning in this part of CA.  A most peaceful and breathtaking area of creation.

Looking Towards Lake Almanor

We went back to the campground, closed up, had lunch at Plumas Pines, a most excellent place to eat, right on the water front with great staff and owners to make you feel like family.

And then it was time to go home and back to reality...

after the nap....

so after a GREAT nap, up in the Sierras, after a boat ride around Lake Almanor and a perfect picnic while floating in a cove, we decided to go out for a short kayak paddle.  A little to the west and a little to the east.  I have only kayaked 2x's before, but finding I really enjoy the slow, quiet pace.  That is except when it flips me into the water, but that's another story.

No idea what bug this is, do you know?

Paddle like this?

You Just Launch Like this...oh #@!!!

Oh Yeah!
After a paddle around, without my camera, it was time to start the evening relaxing and dinner...steak, baked potatoes and corn on the cob...yummm

cleanup, then take in the evening wind down...

You Use my camera...ok, I'll use the phone... ;)
