Sometime last week....with my head in the clouds

This was, I believe Monday...after getting ourselves settled, and a nap...off to Starbucks for a Soy latte with pumpkin spice...sooo good, we headed up Mt. Evans on the bikes.  It is the highest paved road I believe in North America.

The show of color from the Aspens were like nothing I have experienced before and I relished every eye popping turn.

There's A Storm Across the Valley
It did let loose as we headed back with lightning all around us, but it did not rain until we parked the bikes and jumped into the trailer.

We made it up to Summit Lake where they had closed the road for the season.  At this point we were 12,800 ft!!  It was so cold up there and the road has no guard rails.  Like my daughter said, it is amazing how a 2' barrier makes you feel much safer!

Baby!! It's Cold Outside!

Not to be morbid, but I missed this sign until we stopped & my hubby said "Did you see that?"  So we turned around and went back...eery, I paid better attention to my riding after that.  And now I wonder who she was.....

Back into Golden, CO for dinner.... I believe this is called Table Mountain.  We really enjoyed this place.  Seemed a bit of Heaven on Earth.

Time to head off to my real job.......and I am late!  More to come.

Day 3 and falling behind willingly

The day was Sunday, 9/19/10 and we decided to go to Arches National Park before leaving for Colorado.  Starting to slow down.  Happily.
So again...just a few pictures from there to here.

Day 2, which is Friday???

You know you are truly on vacation when you forget what day it is.  Soooo nice!  More pictures than words, sorry, but the time on the road compared to the time on the computer just is not going to equate.  So I will stick with pictures.

On the Road Day 1: Monument Valley Navajo Nation

Off and on the road with the final destination of Colorado.  First stop for breakfast, out on I40 in the historical town in Ludlow, CA.   Good breakfast, no need for lip gloss!

We wanted to get to Monument Valley  for the night so we could catch sunrise on the formations.  This is an incredible land and the Navajo peoples are warm and friendly.  What a land of contrasts we live in.

We caught the sunset also, the colors and formations are incredible.

The end of Day 1, our journey continues....

Take a Morning Walk at the Beach with Me

A walk in Pismo Beach, 1st thing in the morning is always a refresher for me.  These pictures are from a week ago.  The beach, the sand, the air, the scent of the salt water seem to always calm & remind me of the simple beauty around me.

Shark!!!!
Did not see the fin until I edited....so that's what they were looking at!

The shades of colors are so soothing to me.

Beach Treasure

The colors in the cliffs that meet the ocean always amaze me no matter how many times I see them.

 God has His Hand out....

May your soul be at peace today.  Cat
